Dirt Burger just a hop, SKIP, and a jump away...

That's right folks.... that special time of the year that you wait for ever so patiently is almost here.
The 4th Annual DIRT BURGER!!!
June 8-9-10, Decorah, IA

From the dirty, dirty mouth of Skip Bernet himself:
http://surlybikes.com/blog/post/bicycling_events_you_should_attend

"The fourth annual Dirt Burger celebration of mountain bikes, sleeping under a bridge, bonfires, and adult beverages. This year's Burger will be held the weekend of June 8-10 in the aforementioned quaintness of Decorah. This is a loosely organized event based on the premise that you don't always have to be racing to get together for fun times on your two-wheeler.
Dirt Burger will also coincide with a fund raiser for the Decorah Human Powered Trails group at McCaffrey's Dolce Vita pizza restaurant. We'll feature the same band that played last year - Beet Root Stew. I defy you to not dance like an idiot when these gents play their brand of bluegrassy, jug bandy, laid backy radness. They'll play starting at 7pm on Saturday the 9th and folks riding bikes out to their pad will get a discount on admission. All the dough will go toward continuing the great work that DHPT does to keep the trails fancy.
We'll also be determining the World Bucketball Championships for 2012 at the Dirt Burger at the BrauSovCor Bucketball Invetational. Imagine bike polo without mallets or skinny jeans, and a 5 gallon pickle bucket in place of the ball and you're on the right track. Wear gloves and shoes for this one, and don't bring a bike you don't want scuffed."

-----------
That's pretty much it in a nutshell. You know Skip, not much for the details, which is what keeps this nice little event just that. It is worth noting that; um, it's free. Camping is free. There will be bikes - some people may actually ride them or be willing to show you around Decorah's rad ass 20 miles of single track (about 150 yds from camping). You should bring everything that you think you may need. Keg of Jolly Pumpkin Oro de Calabaza? Sure- why the hell not?  It may also be worth noting that Toppling Goliath Brewery is a nice & short ride along the river away as well, as is downtown with it's lovely selection of dining, shopping, and drinking establishments.

If you are really looking for more information on this event and want to know the nitty gritty or have 1,043 questions about the details, we suggest thinking twice about showing up. No we don't, we suggest you email <sov@surlybikes.com>. Hell, send him an email even if you don't have any questions - word on the street is that he gets hella' board in his SMC (Surly Man Cave).

See you at the Dirt Burger!
